Time for some green flaming substance! Lannister’s Pyromancers is definitely one of my favourite troop in the game of A Song of Ice and Fire. I know its not a very popular choice in a Lannister list in the A Song of Ice and Fire miniature game. But still, I enjoy fielding them in my Lannister list and getting the best out of them. I still remember first time seeing them in the CMON store before I started Songs of Ice and Fire. In my mind, definitely gonna have these guys in my army when I start the A Song of Ice and Fire game.
The Pyromancers, they must do their role as a glass cannon and inflict the maximum damage before they are gone. With a poor defence save, they are literally not wearing armour in battle, they are easily shattered when attacked. I just find that, the flaming green substance bring intense satisfaction in the heat of battle, haha. With Gregor attachment in it, its pure green satisfaction in maximum damage and getting opponent troops deleted when the rolls are all in favour.
I followed the same colour scheme of dark red feel for my Lannister’s Pyromancers, pretty similar to my Lannister Guardsmen. The fun part about painting the Pyromancers was definitely painting the green substance glow and the green bottles. Wanted to airbrush for the glow effect, but changed my mind, and decided to paint the glow effect instead. The green glow effect was done with painting various layer of thinned green paint over and over to achieve the glow look. It takes patience, have to wait for the green layer to dry before applying another layer. Some of them, I got impatient, and had repaint the base red and to do the green laying all over. Once all done, its definitely worth the patience and effort to see all the green substance glowing in my Pyromancers unit! Time to throw wildfire in battle and see enemy burn green!
